Can a Pope be a socialist when it has already been condemned by the Church?

Question: How can I justify Pope Francis apparent favor of socialism? Is he is being misquoted where are his actual words?

His words are adding to the problem we are having in America by a regime that is pushing our country toward socialism as they take enormous power into their own hands. The Holy Father is adding to the problem in what he is saying. How can this be when the Church as consistently condemned socialism. Is the Pope overstepping his bounds?
