QUESTION:When our lady of Fatima showed the children hell,she told them to help these poor souls we must make many sacrifices and prayers. But if they are already in hell how can they be helped? Please can someone help me to understand

ANSWER:Hi Teresa, you are correct in saying that we can no longer help souls who are in hell. Their state is eternal.

When Our Lady of Fatima showed the children those who were in hell, she asked for prayers for those of us who are still on earth - especially for sinners who are in danger of falling in hell. Her call for prayers and sacrifices is for sinners - not those who are already in hell since they cannot be saved anymore.
